Terms of Pledge

Terms Of Pledge

Last Revised: March 27, 2024

Miles4Migrants is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to facilitate the purchase of airline tickets by pledgors using their personal frequent flyer miles, hotel points, and credit card points (collectively referred to herein as “miles/points”) for refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, and their family members (referred to herein as “Flight Recipients”) who have been separated or need to be relocated due to circumstances like war and persecution.

You are pledging miles/points (the “Pledge”) to the Flight Recipient(s) to be used on or before one year from the date pledge is made. You agree that the Pledge is being made from your own account or that you have legal permission to pledge miles/points from this account if it is in someone else’s name.

When a flight request is matched to this Pledge, you will book the reservation yourself using Flight Recipient information that we will provide to you. In some cases, you may allow Miles4Migrants to access your reward program account to make the reservation (if this is allowed under the terms of your award agreement) — you will then give us your login information and grant us permission to access your frequent flyer account to use up to the maximum number of miles/points pledged to purchase airfare for the Flight Recipient on your behalf. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Miles4Migrants will never ask to access credit card accounts for reservations made with credit card points, American Airlines AAdvantage miles or British Airways Avios points; such bookings must be made directly by you.

Use of Pledge

Your miles/points will only be used to provide free airfare for refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, and other forcibly displaced individuals.  None of Miles4Migrants, the Flight Recipient(s), or you will sell, trade, or use the pledge in exchange for compensation of any kind. Miles4Migrants will never take ownership or receipt of your miles/points – they are a gift directly to the Flight Recipient(s) from you.

No Compensation

You acknowledge that you are making this Pledge as a gift to the Flight Recipient with whom your Pledge is matched, and for no other reason. You acknowledge and agree that neither you nor any third party will receive compensation or consideration of any kind in exchange for this Pledge or the eventual use of your miles/points by Miles4Migrants, and that no barter, sale, or other transaction is taking place in connection with this Pledge.

It may take some time before we are able to facilitate and match a flight request to this Pledge. Therefore, you agree to keep this Pledge open for at least a year from the date of the Pledge. If something changes at any time and you can no longer pledge the miles/points, please use reasonable best efforts to notify us by email at support@miles4migrants.org.  Upon receipt of such notice, we will remove the Pledge from our database and no longer attempt to match the Pledge to a Flight Recipient. If your miles/points expire before we are able to make a match and they cannot be extended, or your miles/points are unavailable for any other reason, you have no obligation to Miles4Migrants or to the Flight Recipient(s). We just ask that you please let us know so that we can remove the pledge from our database.

Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure

Both you and Miles4Migrants agree that personal, financial, and other confidential information (“Confidential Information”) shared with the other that is needed to make the flight reservation(s) for the Flight Recipient(s) will not be disclosed or used for any other purpose than necessary for you to make the flight reservation(s) using the Pledge. If you request (and such request is allowed under the terms and conditions of your award program) that Miles4Migrants make the reservation using your miles/points, you will need to provide your account log-in information to Miles4Migrants. We agree to use this information solely for the purpose of facilitating the reservation. Please note that Miles4Migrants will never access credit card accounts for reservations made with credit card points, American Airlines AAdvantage miles or British Airways Avios points.

To enable you to make flight reservation(s) for Flight Recipient(s), Miles4Migrants will provide you with the information needed to make the flight reservation for the Flight Recipient(s). You agree to use the Flight Recipient’s personal information solely for the purpose of making the reservation.  In no case will either Miles4Migrants or you share Confidential Information with any outside party beyond that required for the booking of the flight reservation. With respect to Flight Recipients, “Confidential Information” includes but is not limited to names, addresses, dates of birth, passports, visas, nationalities, religions, photographs, point of origin, destination, and circumstances of any Flight Recipient or their family.  You agree that upon completion of making a Reservation, you will destroy copies of all Confidential Information provided to you for the making of the reservation, and that any information remaining in your airline account showing the name(s) or other information of the Flight Recipient(s) flown will remain confidential.

This is the entire agreement between you and Miles4Migrants with respect to this Pledge and will replace any other agreements, written or oral, pertaining thereto. If any changes need to be made to the Pledge amount, the award program, your contact information, preferences, etc please contact Miles4Migrants by email at support@miles4migrants.org.
