Title: Technology Solutions Lead

Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt, Salaried

Location: Remote, with team retreats once or twice a year.

Who we are:

Miles4Migrants is a 501c1 nonprofit dedicated to booking flights using donated airline miles to help people impacted by war, persecution, or disaster start a new beginning in a new home. We are a small, scrappy and innovative group of passionate individuals who push boundaries to maximize our impact in the refugee community by turning unused airline miles into a life changing force for good. Our love language is reunion hugs and our slack language is gifs.

Position Overview:

The Tech Solutions Lead will collaborate with the Director of Operations and Innovation to manage the technology solutions at Miles4Migrants. As a fully remote team spread across the country and working with partners and refugees across the world, our technology is the core of our operation so you’ll be at the heart of every aspect of what we do. Initially you’ll focus on administration of various tech apps, assisting the Director of Ops with daily tasks including user provisioning, report management, basic integrations and documentation. When comfortable, you’ll be expected to dive into a solutions based role which will involve working alongside our various teams to identify organizational needs and using your creative problem solving skills to build out new solutions and processes to support their work. This work will focus primarily on Salesforce as the backbone of our organization, but it will also involve apps including Hubspot, Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom, Asana, Confluence and various others.

Who you are:

You’re passionate about serving the refugee community and using technology as a force for good by improving efficiency and building technology that allows our team to work smarter and maximize our impact. You’re a creative problem solver who is excited when you hear about problems you don’t yet have an answer to. You’re a go-getter who is willing to jump headfirst into a project, working independently to develop creative solutions as you build your own skill set. You thrive in a workplace with a collaborative and fast-paced environment performing a variety of tasks effectively with autonomy in your day-to-day tasks.

A day in the life:

This morning you’ll dive into Salesforce screenflows and custom fields, starting to build out a better way for our flight booking team to record flight reservations and maintain communications with partners. This afternoon you’ll have a meeting with our donor engagement team to work through how we can use technology and automation to improve the efficiency of their processes, perhaps discussing integrations with document generation and signature solutions. Just as you’re ready to sign off, you’ll get hit with a few error notifications and have to quickly debug an issue a user is having. Chaotic, challenging, fun, diverse. At the end of the day you can look to the sky and know that dozens of refugees are on their way to safe new homes because of the work you’re doing.

  • Work alongside the Director of Operations and Innovation to administer our technology systems, primarily our Salesforce instance which runs on NPSP, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud
  • Maintain and install (as appropriate) integrations between Salesforce and Hubspot, Slack, FormTitan, Jotform, SignNow and Google Data Studio.
  • Design and implement custom automations primarily using Salesforce Flows and Hubspot Workflows
  • Design and implement custom solutions in Salesforce by creating custom objects, fields, layouts and integrating 3rd party apps
  • Build reports and dashboards within Salesforce and Google Data Studio (including creating new objects and fields as necessary) to support and enable data analysis and visualization for internal users and external stakeholders
  • Managing donation processing and integration through Paypal, Stripe and Donorbox
  • Update WordPress.org website with plugins and integrations while maintaining functionality and assisting during downtime or incidents
  • User management (internal and external): provisioning users and managing permissions for various technology

platforms (Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
